I drink to forget... 2012 version

Ok, you know the comic?
Ok, in case you are wondering why the updates here are even fewer than usual, it's because Japan has entered the depressing "bounenkai" season again (I wrote about it four years ago so if you've forgotten you can catch up here)...

It's quite exhausting and this week I have had drinking events four days in a row, one with friends, one with a customer and two internal... This usually means that I don't get home until twelve at the earliest and get at best five hours sleep, going to work hungover and then just have a rinse and repeat the following day... But the long New Year's holiday is in sight and I just try to survive until then!

Hang in there man, the end is in sight. One way or another, I guess...

(Oh, and Ironman?)

maybe you'd better get the liver checked after the drinking season.

Almost there salaryman! I have one this week with an expected turnout of 30 people at karaoke afterwards and a guy who likes to get drunk and sing and dance to Queen songs, it could be fun.

It all ends up turning into a sleep deprived and hungover blur, I guess we now know why they have that really good hangover medicine at the convenience store, it has come in handy quite a few times now. The green one is amazing.

Stumbled upon your blog recently, and I spent a good chunk of the weekend reading up on a whole bunch of entries from 2007! now that I'm semi-caught up, nice to find this fun place. Good luck in 2012

Chris - Thanks dude, someone who understand just how hard it is to spend every night drinking and laughing, appreciate the support!

Kamo - Nice, Ironman indeed, but now things have finally stopped, now we're done for this year and a little break from the "new year parties"...

Aimless - Or just get a transplant right away as preventive measure!

Momotaro - Exactly, the nights are ok, it's the working hungover with 4 hours of sleep that is less fun. Never tried that stuff, the hangover energy drinks, do they actually work?

Ibraheem - Thank you! Reading all the posts from 2007 is quite the effort (I think it comes to over 500 pages of text if it all got put in a book). Always fun to hear that someone enjoys the page!

How busy do things get during the new year's holiday? I'm going to be in Tokyo from the 28th to the 5th and now have this vision of battling crowds at every step with everyone being on holiday.
