Seriously, I don't know what's going on now, but this extremely boring commercial is now running 50% of the time in between the news updates... Does anyone know what's up with that? I can only speculate that normal sponsors have not been able to respond properly to the changing tv schedule due to the earthquake. This "AC Japan" seem to be some association for advertising...

"Advertising Council": an industry 'self-regulating' body? Native-wife says it is because the public would be enraged to see the usual too lively commercials selling shiny crap. Quite right.
They're also running Medicines sans Frontier and UNHCR ads. Maybe to say "if you think you have it bad, look at these people in Africa living in corrugated metal shacks without electricity".
So the council have put off all the non important commercials? Interesting...
I also noticed those annoying AC commercials.
They stopped all ads for a day or so, obviously due to it being bad taste.
Probably AC saw the opportunity to get cheap ads (at a time with heavy viewing figures too) and have taken to risk to give us a bad-taste-advert-tsunami and hope we don't backlash about it.
Isnt AC an insurance company? It was non-stop insurance ads the other night. thought it was AC or AU, something like that.

Mr. S - Hmmm, actually that probably makes most sense considering the other ads that Octopus is mentioning
Martin - Yeah, I'm really sick and tired of these "informative and compassionate" commercials now, regular Japanese commercials are much more amusing!
jlpt2 - Yep and what Octopus said, those commercials are just sooooo long...
So true! That one and the one about people not being able to see your heart/actions but being able to see your motives (another AC commercial?)....all the flippin' time. xD
