We recently got Baby Sunshine a really cool pimped out trike for her to roll around in the neighborhood and maintain order. The decision was between a pink Hello Kitty, a pink Minny Mouse, a red Anpanman or this unisex Pooh trike. I was initially in favor of the Hello Kitty one, but as it turned out that some fancy features were missing, we settled for the Pooh one.
(The title of the post I took from an old post I read over at Green Eyed-Geisha's blog at some point, thought was funny and then completely forgot about it until it popped back in my head when I saw this picture...)

A wise choice!! The little pooh on the handlebars would entertain me all day at her age. To be honest...a smudge on the wall kept me entertained at that age so your just spoiling her.
Let mommy be the enforcer and you be the enabler...
"But Daddy said I could!!"
Then while mommy scolds her you wait and then tell her..
"Mommy loves you...just not as much as me...don't hate her for that though"
until she starts bringing home boyfriends and then scare em' all away.
She looks ready to take on the neighbourhood, the obachan brigade better watch out, there's a new boss in town.
super cute but i've have gone for anpanman... he goes faster!
I am glad you did not go with the Hello Kitty option, otherwise I would have been forced to remind you of that time you insisted on holding my hand while I guided your drunken self to what you claimed (and luckily turned out to be) your home.
@ Pussy - for a while I was wondering about the love going on between you guys, now I understand what happened between the closed doors.
@Biggy: fear not, I was able to escape his drunken advances *and* I filched his takoyaki pan in case octopi more innocent than myself should ever find themselves in his clutches.
(I also recall I relieved his wallet of a couple of thousand yen for a taxi because I was skint, had no idea where the hell I was or if there was an ATM nearby).
Which reminds me, we must have another Tokyo blogger meetup this summer (guests from Chiba and Kanagawa welcomed too, of course).
Chris - Yeah, were was this kinda fancy thing 30+ something years when I was a kid? I'm gonna be the enabler to the max, trust me on that!
Saraf - Yeah, but then the Obachan brigade closes in on her and she starts wailing...
Kathryn - I would've been ok with the Anpanman version too, but it didn't have all the cool features like playing a melody and creepy voice!
Octopus - Seriously, this is years ago now and must have reached the statue of limitations! But on the topic of small girls bikes, it surely must be acceptable to give a one year old girl a hello kitty bike? I think the problem with hello kitty stuff is when grown men and women buy that kinda stuff and use it?
BiJ - Sometimes a drunken blackout can be a gift!
Apologies, my records appear to indicate I was slightly under the influence myself when I posted that (cackling "that'll teach you for calling me 'Saitama Lover'" while I wrote).
You need to take her to where the local motorcycle gangs loiter, as they'll immediately flee while screaming like little girls.
