You up to the challenge?

Recently I've been filled with a warm fuzzy feeling through seeing something of a community springing up among mine and some related blogs. I think it's a vague undefined feeling of community.

So, I guess this post only concern those people who have been active commenting and blogging on their own, I'm more specifically talking about people like Penguin, Cowgirl, Turningpin and AF (forgive me if I forgot anyone).

How about a real life face-off? However, not only should we make this an event at some sordid bar/Izakaya/Theme Restaurant/Denny's place in Ikebukuro (obviously), Shinjuku or somewhere in central Tokyo, but we should also all blog about the evening and our impressions for posting at a given time the day after or so. That would make it a mini-event.

So, you guys up for the challenge? Leave a comment what you think and also send a mail if you're actively interested and I'll try to cook something up.

I'm totally up for it. I've actually been thinking along the same lines myself. I've already met up with Cowgirl once, and she is lurrvely in every sense of the word.

If we can all figure out out a day and time, count me in. :)

Phew! I thought you were directing me to another bug-related post. An excellent idea, please add my name to the list!

Look, we already got ourselves a little task team here! Nice!
Anyone else who feel that they want to be included in this historical event, just send a mail or leave a comment!

Sounds great, but I will be in Kyoto til mid-September. I know a cool horror izakaya in Shinjuku, assuming I can find it again. But then again, it wasn't that comfortable to sit at.

Don't forget Geisha Interrupted, she's how I found your blog in the first place.

I don't know about the rest of you, but a "horror izakaya" sounds friggin' fantastic to me.

Speaking of geisha, has anyone contacted GEG about this?

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Tokyo might very implode by having all of us under the same roof. Especially the roof of a horror izakaya.

Guess I will have to see if I can find the place again. I haven't been there is years.

Hello!

I'm Jorge López, I came from Mexico to study Japanese and I was invited by jturningpin to join your club, but unfortunately I'm living in Okazaki at this time and fares to go to Tokyo are somewhat expensive, so it's very probable I won't be able to join you.

Anyway, you looks good people so I hope I would be able to meet you in person in Tokyo soon. In the meantime, I'll be reading your blogs to know you better!

Hi,
I was invited along by Neil Duckett. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
