This means that the risk of getting that Ozawa, reeking of the arrogance the way only an old school Japanese politician can, has blown over for now. Tonight, the Salaryman household can sleep peacefully.

what? politics? I know nothing about that guy... Here's some real sad news: Two boys arrested for shooting fireworks at homeless man
When I was in high school, I had a friend who grew up in Japan (he's half-Japanese, just like you! and the other half is a random mix of European. Sorry for the lumping but I don't know exactly what his ancestors were) and he told me that he used to throw firecrackers at homeless men when he was young. So maybe it's a common thing to do here? But that's so sad...
Water-related article with PRINCES!!! Royalty is so exciting!
You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but there's this commercial that's been bothering me. Mirabokissomaker. What the heck is that about? I don't understand Japanese but that actress looks extremely frustrated with those people and then all of a sudden a crazy llama/alpaca shows up and starts talking in a crazy high-pitched voice that haunts my nightmares.

This is not an unusual occurence in Japan. Once you have lived here a while you will learn to accept it and even treasure each event as an opportunity to commune with nature.
